Alpaca males are fun to watch. They are like big crias – running and wrestling, and just stretching out in the sun to take a nap.

Choosing a Fiber Boy gives one the opportunity to acquire an alpaca at a more modest price than a comparable female. It is an inexpensive way to get one's feet wet in learning how to care for these loveable animals. With males, one doesn't have to be concerned with pregnancies, birthing, hours spent in "cria watch" or breeding or progesterone testing.

Want to have the freedom to be away from your alpacas? Owning Fiber Boys means you can do this any time of the year, as long as you have a reliable alpaca sitter who feeds and waters them and "scoops the poop" while you are away.

You should realize a return on your expenses in a few years. Just three pounds of blanket fiber processed into yarn should pay about $240 (minus $75 or so for processing). Turn the yarn into a wearable garment, and your profit goes up. What can be done with the raw fiber is limitless, especially if you like to knit, crochet, weave or spin.

The Geldings are offered at $500 each or 3 for $900.

First Class Sebastianson, "Sebbie," shows very correct conformation. His fiber is extra long, exceptionally soft and shows a nice broad crimp with signs of pretty nice density. He is a handsome, very gentle male, and one that is easy to work with.

KC is a good-looking male with beautiful conformation. His fiber is very black with a sheen. It spins up with a nice luster. He sired his first cria in the spring of 2005 — Othello, a black male with very nice crimpy fiber.

DOB: 26 Sept. 2002
Color: Dark Fawn & White
Sire: James TAC (1/2 Peruvian)
Dam: WLA Chestnut

William is an excellent fiber producer. His fiber grows extra long, it is dense and has a good crimp. He is a smart fella. He has learned to jump a 3-foot-high electric fence to eat the clover in a particular pasture. When he has his fill, he jumps back over and rejoins the rest of the boys.

William White Socks sheared 6.99 lbs. of fiber on April 17, 2009.
