Majacraft is a small, family company based in New Zealand dedicated to the manufacture of high quality spinning wheels and accessories. They have developed new products in response to handcrafters' demands and are continually seeking to improve and extend their product range. Their focus is towards giving spinners the tools to be creative and promote handspinning as an art that continues to expand its horizons.

Every Majacraft wheel is built as an individual wheel. It starts life with a number and that identifies it forever.

Before assembly, each part receives three coats of lacquer and is hand rubbed between each coat. It is then carefully assembled with a check sheet following the wheel and this can be found packaged with your wheel. It is thoroughly tested at different spinning speeds and is only signed by the tester when it meets Majacraft's standards. A card is attached to the wheel with the tester's signature, and the wool that has been spun is left on one of the four bobbins that comes with your wheel. Because of the handwork required, every wheel is different and may not look exactly like the next wheel. They each have a different character and that is the charm of an individually crafted wheel.

During assembly, the color tones of the woods are matched to create a pleasing overall effect. The rimu is a New Zealand timber that has been selectively harvested from forests at the end of its useful life.

After testing, the wheels are then disassembled and individually packed for shipping. Included in the package are the test sheet and assembly instructions as well as other useful information about your wheel.
