Sorry, all spaces have been filled.

What is Subscription Gardening

For 21 weeks, beginning May 21 through October 8, we are offering you (maximum of 10 families this year) the opportunity to pick up at our farm every Wednesday a large basket of food for only $20 per week. All families will receive the same amount of food.

Examples of Products

In May, you can expect to get lettuce, spinach, radishes, rhubarb. By the end of the month, strawberries will be available. Sometimes a loaf of homemade bread will be in the basket, depending on the vegetable harvest. All the vegetables and strawberries will be organically grown.

As the season continues, there will be more varieties of produce - green beans, okra, bulb and green onions, peppers, tomatoes, summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers, peas, Swiss chard, peaches, plums, apples and winter squash. There may even be an occasional half gallon of apple cider and a jar of apple butter included.

I will also try to have a bouquet of flowers available as often as possible. If there is a particular vegetable that your family just will not eat, let me know and I will make a substitution.

The Cost

How do you participate in this program? You must register by May 17 and pay $210 (one-half of the total cost) at the time of joining. You will then pay $10 each week when you pick up your basket of farm products always worth more than $20.

Pick Up Time

Wednesdays, beginning May 21, between noon and 8 p.m.

Extra Value from Participation

I want this to be a fun thing for the families, and it will also be a learning experience, as I might introduce something new along with a recipe. Hopefully, the children will be interested in seeing how some of their favorite vegetables are grown.

Call before May 17 - the deadline to register (Cell:  573-721-1415).
